Nigel

Silver Girl Records (SG-040)
12-song Compact Disc

Having met in Kalamazoo, Michigan while attending Western Michigan University. Damon (piano, vocals) and Bebe (guitar, vocals) played together in offbeat, experimental outfits. A few months after Damon moved to Denver, Colorado, Steve followed suit. Nigel began with as a duo embracing a drum machine. The Nigel sound changed radically when Trent Josten (drums) joined the guys in Denver. Soon after, Jeff Mann was recruited on bass and Nigel realized they were a recording and touring tour de force.

While listeners will craft their own impressions of who Nigel is influenced by, the sound is more likely an end-product of their offbeat sense of humor and contrasting personalities: Damon has always felt his songs were too fluffy while Steve’s talents were a bit on the dark and mopey side. Together as Nigel, the two balance each other out.

Both bandmates have retained their quirkier side in their continuing solo efforts of Portastac-influenced pop as Me, and country-tinged folk as Al Chicken.

Poised on touring to support their debut album, Nigel are ever-optimistic about what lies ahead.

Staff:
Bebe: guitar, vocals
Damon Ari-shea: Piano, vocals
