The Serenas

After meeting in London, in 1989, Christina and Jennifer Silver moved, separately, to San Francisco in 1991 and launched The Serenas soon thereafter. Jennifer’s boyfriend, Ken(ny) Finn, joined the band on bass while Joel (guitar) and Gary (drums) filled out the band (and were friends of Jennifer’s as well). Rehearsals took place in Gary’s basement where Jennifer played guitar and Christina sang. After only a few shows, Christina left the band for The Trashwomen, while the others played on for a bit. Following their contribution to the Winters Mist compilation, The Serenas became The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower and contributed the track 'Untitled' to 'The V. Lake Orchestra Presents - Two for the Price of One' 7" compilation which included tracks by Madison Electric (Tim Sendra of Veronica Lake) and Esme's Symphony (Chip Porter of Veronica Lake). Finn would go on to launch Swing Set Records where he released records by Bugbear, My Favorite, The Radio Sweethearts and The Canteloupe Syndrome.
