Damon Ari-shea (piano, vocals) and Bebe (guitar, vocals) played together in offbeat, experimental outfits as a duo until they left Michigan for Denver. While Nigel began with the duo working with a drum machine, the sound changed drastically when Trent Josten (drums) joined the guys in Denver. Soon after Jeff Mann was recruited to play bass and the quartet realized they had become a recording and touring tour de force.
